Felicity Street in Flames
So, last night we returned home after a night out at about 2:00. Five minutes later, we heard lots of commotion outside, people running around and yelling. We went outside on the porch and the house down the street from us was engulfed in flames. I have never seen anything like that- a woman and her baby live there, luckily they got out but I think they lost everything. And, the 70-something man Pete who lives two houses down has lived in his house for 40 years, and at least the front part of his house was ruined by smoke and water damage. A college kid skateboarding past Pete's house practically broke down his door to wake him up and tell him his house was on fire. In other words, he probably saved his life. It was so intense- SEVEN fire trucks on our street, one fireman had to be run to the hospital. And watching this man pace back and forth watching his house burn down was almost too much to bear. Sorry for the downer, but life throws curveballs sometimes! Hug somebody : )
