Gotta love immunization day!
Our kids had to have shots today. You can imagine what the reaction was. About half the girls came back sobbing. Their day today consisted mostly of standardized testing and immunizations. Sounds like fun to a fifth grader, eh? NOOOO!
This week has been tough. One of our very best kids moved away to Beaumont and two of our kids who were involved in the huge bus mess before Thanksgiving were allowed back in on a technicality. Sometimes our school is ridiculous. But we keep trying to teach it like it's hot, that's all I can do sometimes.
We sent off pen pal letters before thanksgiving, and it was a huge success! Apparently we have some returned already, I'll need to check on that. The kids LOVE checking our class mailbox.
Even though things have not been spectacular lately, I still love it. There are those moments that make it all worthwhile. Like when Tory Sanchell is disappointed because I asked for 8 sentences on the homework and she wants to write 10! Or when Jonquil asks me all about college, and says he can't wait to go. Or when Melanie pulls her hand to her a body for a "yes!" when I announce we will play a noun game on the board. Man, I love these kids, even if some of them are little s***s sometimes. : )
Hope all is well.
