Check out my kids!
Things are good. Thanksgiving was fabulous. 8 of us came together. 4 pies, a souffle cake (notice how I mention the desserts first...fat kid alert!!), Jake cooked the turkey, really good corn casserole, Maggie made the stuffing. I felt like an adult with our nicely decorated, dim lit house, made up table and lots of down home food. It was a very relaxing week, especially thanksgiving and friday. Lots of football watching, playing volleyball in the streets, Taboo. So nice. On Sunday I biked to the French Quarter. I kept getting turned around since the streets change a lot of directions and if you go anywhere you have to make a lot of turns (old urban planning or lack thereof - many centuries ago).
I had a good teaching day today so I decided it was a good time to take some pictures of my kids. They are working in math centers.
Below is Danielle and Deion working on word problems. Deion is VERY low, the only independent work he can do is addition and easy multiplication. He is the one I read with every day with the DI book my parents taught me with. Danielle has taken him under her wing. She helps him organize his belongings and homework every day and reminds him to behave and listen to me, etc. She used to be a habitual liar/brat and she's made a huge transition which I am very pleased to see. I think helping Deion has made her a better student/person. It's really cute. She often asks if the "team and family (our name for the class) can be quiet so we can learn."

This is the only one that would upload right now. But I have more pics coming soon!
